MELAKA: Melaka Parti Gerakan Rakyat Malaysia (Gerakan) launches a “hunger buster” mobile team to serve locals who need assistance.

State Gerakan chairman Datuk Seri Gan Peng Lam said he had procured two vehicles to help those facing problems including mental issues.

“We are the first state to launch a mobile unit with two vehicles and a team to respond to any issues at the grassroots.

“Our focus will be on sending food items to those who face a shortage,” he said on Thursday (Sept 9).

Gan said the team, three volunteers in each vehicle, would also respond to those who need transport to local vaccination centres.

He said teachers who had yet to get vaccinated can also contact the mobile team if they want to be ferried to the centres.

“Senior citizens can also request for our service,” he said.
