COALITION RESPECT MUCH PREFERABLE TO BLIND LOYALTY, MCA TOLD

Responding to objections by MCA Youth towards GERAKAN’s comment on a potential MCA entry with Perikatan Nasional, GERAKAN Information Chief, Wendy Subramaniam clarified that this is not a direct invitation to bring MCA into Perikatan Nasional, but rather proposing an alternative where MCA can be treated with the respect it deserves as a coalition partner.

“This is not a direct invitation, but options for MCA to consider if they want to be treated as a respected coalition partner again”, said Wendy.

The Information Chief clarified that there is no malice behind GERAKAN’s comment on MCA, but rather coming from the perspective of a former coalition partner. “We’ve worked together as coalition partners for many decades, it is a shame to see how our former allies are mistreated by its own coalition for political expediency. This is more about a matter of respect than loyalty. Perhaps MCA has different priorities than GERAKAN, but for us, we prefer equal respect over blind loyalty towards partners that take us for granted,” added Wendy.

“Since GE-15, Zahid Hamidi’s UMNO did little to protect MCA’s interests and accord MCA its due respect as a coalition partner. Instead, UMNO out of political expediency cozied up with their former opponents, DAP at the expense of MCA. This has been admitted by MCA leadership in a recent political podcast”.

Wendy opined that both GERAKAN and MCA should reach a consensus to act against the biggest manipulator of the country, knowing full well that DAP continuously deceived the rakyat with a web of lies and false promises of reformasi.

“We shouldn’t let our differences impede our mutual aspirations for a better Malaysia. There is no better time for us to come together, and expose the truth of reformasi for what it is – reform-mati.” urged the GERAKAN Information Chief.
